Thanks to its many facets, the region around Lake Achensee is not only the perfect destination to enjoy in summer, but also perfect in winter thanks to its numerous cross-country ski trails and ski areas.

In winter, the landscape around the deep blue lake presents itself in its dreamily beautiful white dress. Cross-country ski trails lead along the lake and from Pertisau into the small valleys – in total, the area around Lake Achensee boasts more than 200 kilometers of trails, making it one of the most important cross-country skiing centers in Tyrol.

Put on your skis right outside your front door and set off? No, that’s not just wishful thinking. Our house is located right at the hotspot of the most beautiful cross-country ski trails in Tyrol. Trails lead along the lake and from Pertisau into the small valleys – in total, the area around Lake Achensee boasts more than 200 kilometers of trails, making it one of the most important cross-country skiing centers in Tyrol.

Skiing & snowboarding

Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy skiing at its best in four ski areas on 53 kilometers of slopes at Lake Achensee. All ski areas can be easily reached with the ski buses in the region.

Ski tours

Ski tourers at Lake Achensee will find summit bliss with breathtaking views of Lake Achensee. From easy to challenging, there are a wide variety of tours around Lake Achensee. One of the most beautiful tours probably leads up to the Bärenkopf at 1,991 m. Once you reach the summit, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the entire Lake Achensee.

Tobogganing

If you prefer to grab a toboggan, you’ll get your money’s worth too. Five natural toboggan runs cover the range from family-friendly to fast and challenging over 1.5 to 4.5 kilometers. If you don’t want to exert yourself too much, you can float up to the starting point by lift in Achenkirch and use the toboggan express for the ascent in Pertisau.

A special adventure: tobogganing at night. In Achenkirch, you can enjoy this fun every Wednesday; on the other four toboggan runs, all week long. The toboggan run in Achenkirch was even awarded the “Tyrolean Natural Toboggan Run Seal of Approval” by the Province of Tyrol.

In addition to cross-country ski trails and slopes, Lake Achensee has even more to offer in winter: On the perfectly prepared ice surfaces, you can skate leisurely in circles or try your hand at traditional ice stock sport. You can find perfectly prepared rinks, for example, at the Atoll Achensee leisure center in Maurach or in Achenkirch. You can conveniently rent the right equipment on site.
